Homer Belcher began singing with his father and older sister when he was very young. As time went by, he and his sister sang together at churches in the West Texas area; on live radio shows in Seymour, Texas; at camp meetings in Oklahoma and at special functions in New Mexico. In his late teens, Homer moved to Dallas and began singing lead with the Master's Trio. This group, which stayed together for about two years, consisted of Wayne Musgrave, Walt Mills and Homer. After the Master's Trio, Homer began working as a soloist and recorded a solo album entitled "Let Everybody Sing."
Homer met his wife, Margaret, at the Gospel Lighthouse Church. They now have two children and five grandchildren.
Homer left church and the gospel music field and began singing country music. He had a television program and recorded for the Fashion & Longhorn record label, using the name "Homer Lee." He decided this was not the lifestyle he wanted for himself and his family. Through prayer and help from his friends and family, he rededicated his life to the Lord and Savior about 15 years ago and returned to his roots of singing gospel music. He now sings mostly Southern Gospel with a bit of Country Gospel included.
Homer is a member of several gospel music associations, including BYKOTA (Be Ye Kind One To Another), the Gospel Music Artist Association, and the Southern Gospel Music Association of Texas. In 1998, he was elected to the SGMA of Texas board of directors. members of that association voted him Soloist of the Year in both 1998 and 2002. Also, in 2004, he was voted Male Vocalist of the Year.
In 2002, Homer was invited and accepted the invitation to sing at the Republican State Convention in Dallas. In addition, he made a special guest performance at the Dick Armey Retirement Party with 8,000 in attendance.
Homer would like to extend a big "THANKS" to his church, friends and family for all the support he has received from them. He sincerely hopes you will be blessed by the music he has chosen to sing. You will have to search far and near to find someone who loves to sing more than Homer. His distinctive voice always leaves you wanting to hear more.
